God’s Plan for Our Salvation

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Are you assured of salvation? Are you sure that you are going to Heaven when you die? Or do you have a "hope so" attitude, thinking that you do "enough" good deeds throughout your life to be saved.

If that is the case, you will always be hoping and wondering if you have done enough "good things" yet. How will you ever know when the "good" scale is tipped enough in your favor? You will never be sure.

Eternal Life will always be something you're "hoping for".

God has a much better plan for your salvation. It is a plan that you can be assured of. And, it is a simple enough plan to accomplish. God does want you to be good, so yes, that is still a part of it. But, when you are following God's salvation plan, being "good" will come as natural as breathing.

Repent and Be Saved Because we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God, the first thing we need to do is repent of our sins. Confess and ask for forgiveness.

God is merciful and will give you the gift of forgiveness and salvation. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior. You must believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and rose from the grave three days later to defeat death for all believers.

Then you’ll say, “Praise God! Hallelujah! I know that I am saved.” You are assured of salvation, through God's Grace!

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God: that ye may know that ye have eternal life" (1 John 5:13).

Once you are a forgiven and saved child of God, the Holy Spirit of God begins to work in your heart to change you into a "daily" Christian, a Christian that does those "good deeds" automatically, without thinking. The Holy Spirit will instruct, council and guide your daily Christian walk.

John 16:13-15 But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14"He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. 15"All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.
