So in Ephesians 1:7 where it is written, "The forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace," would indicate that our mortal minds couldn’t possibly imagine at what point does the Grace of God and His forgiveness stop…..it doesn’t!

A person does not become a Christian by simply attending church. There are plenty of warm bodies sitting in church every Sunday. They are in the right place to become a Christian though. To be called a Christian, you have to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Christ is the Umbrella that covers all of those many different denominations that fall under Christianity.

We find this verse in the Gospel of Mark 8:34 “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” The verse follows the story of where Jesus asks His disciples, “Who do men say that I am?” Now Peter correctly stated that “You are the Christ.” In the Gospel of Matthew after this exchange Jesus calls Peter the Rock on which I will build my Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

According to Paul, you will be cut off from that old self, that life in Adam, and joined in your new life with the risen Christ. We are now created to do good works in Jesus’ name. Our sinful habits and life in Adam will not be our nature anymore. Although, this part of your journey will last varying amounts of time.

I have to admit that when I first heard the term Born Again, I sort of thought it was some ‘yuppie’ term that people came up with that had never really had a church life, and were wanting to get one started. I really didn’t remember that they were words that Jesus actually spoke himself. The night that the Pharisee Nicodemus came to Jesus, and Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

His Grace is Enough

He has said to me, (Paul) "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Grace is a beautiful word when it is directed toward us from God! Isn’t it nice to know that God’s Grace is all you ever need, that it is even perfected when we are at our weakest? Beyond that, it is something we don’t even deserve and it is a free gift from our God who created us and loves us unconditionally.

It is well documented in the Bible that God does not like sin. Sin is what separates a person from a saving relationship with God. As rampet as sin is in the world I guess it’s hard to wrap a human mind around the fact that God will not allow the slightest sin to go unpunished. Granted a little white lie sounds innocent enough, but it is still a sin in God's eyes and there you have your separation.

The opposite of that would be the kingdom of darkness, where satan reigns. These powers are constantly in conflict, the ongoing battle of good and evil.
